Why Cancun?
Cancun's beaches and nightlife are among its biggest draws, but there are plenty of other options if you're not looking to party all night long. Couples can check out one of the world's largest aquariums, Xel-Ha (meaning “the place where water is born”), swim with the dolphins (offered at several resorts), or learn more about Mayan culture by taking a day trip to Tulum, an ancient walled city that sits on the edge of the ocean.
If the crowds of the city become too much, you can also escape to nearby Puerto Morelos, a city known for its natural beauty and bohemian atmosphere. There, you can visit Selvatica, an eco-park with over 330 acres of jungle, go snorkeling (their coast is part of the National Marine Park), or just relax at one of the many restaurants or cafes that sit next to the beach.
