1. For romance, rather than Paris try: The Island of Antigua
Why?
"There's 365 beaches in Antigua, one for each day of the year," Hayley says. And with so many beaches to pick from, you and your new husband are quite likely to find one all to yourselves. There are very few children around and most of the resorts in the area are targeted at adults and couples. Hayley suggests checking out Jumby Bay or Galley Bay as a place to stay.
2. For an adventurous getaway, rather than camping try: St. Lucia
Why?
Let's face it, even if you're the type of girl who likes the great outdoors, you'll want a touch of luxury on your honeymoon. St. Lucia really offers both. "There are so many tours and exxursions outside of the resorts," says Hayley. "You can zipline through the rainforest tree tops or take a helicopter tour over the island." And if that's not enough, you can go snorkeling, hiking and even drive through the tops of the island's volcanoes. While you're there, Hayley suggests staying at Jade Mountain or Ti Kaye Village -- two real "hidden gems" of the island.
3. For a totally luxurious honeymoon, rather than Aspen try: Exuma, Bahamas
Why?
Made up of over 300 islands, Exuma has some of the most gorgeous clear blue water in the world. "There's a new Sandals resort there," Hayley says. "And it's an all suite, all butler property -- meaning that every room has a butler and 24 hour room service." If that isn't enough for the luxury lover in you, the area is also relatively untouched and non-commercialized, Hayley says.
"It's still a very relaxed environment," Hayley notes. "You don't have to get dressed up but you're still constantly being pampered."
4. For the food-lovers honeymoon, rather than Italy, try: El Dorado Casitas Royal, Riviera Maya, Mexico
Why?
This luxury resort has one goal: satisfying the palette of every type of foodie possible. "The resort specializes in cuisine," says Hayley. "They've got nine different gourmet food choices right on the property, none of which require reservations." So if you're in the mood for sushi, get sushi on a whim; if you'd like something more American style, you could have a gourmet burger too.
The resort also grows their own vegetables and herbs organically on site, so you can feel good about the food that you're eating. Aside from the gourmet foodand high-end accommodations, Hayley also points out that it's 30 minutes south of Cancun, so you won't have to worry about running into any spring-breakers no matter when you take your trip.
5. For the entertainment lovers getaway, rather than Las Vegas try: Aruba
Why?
"Aruba is a great spot for all the nighttime shows, theme shows, dancing, and very upscale shopping," says Hayley. In particular, Bucuti Beach is one resort that caters to honeymooners and also offers some great dining and nightlife options.
"Forget Vegas," Hayley says, "There's tons of luxury here and you've got the beaches too."
6. For the party-loving couple, rather than Ibiza, try: Playa del Carmen in Mexico or Negril, Jamaica
Why?
Playa del Carmen offers "absolutely every type of bar imaginable" says Hayley. From martini bars to sports clubs, you can walk up and down the streets and fine lots of options for late night partying, says Hayley.
"In Negril, try Rick's Café," she says. "The locals there will jump off these super high cliffs -- it's amazing to watch. Plus, there are live bands and plenty of dancing."
7. For the all-inclusive travelers, rather than a cruise, try: The Caribbean or Mexico
Why?
One of the biggest advantages to traveling through this part of the world is that lots of the packages are all-inclusive. "There aren't any all-inclusive places in Hawaii or in the South Pacific," says Hayley. "And only a few in the British Virgin Islands." So if you're looking for a one-stop-shop deal, stick to the Caribbean or Mexico.
8. For the water-lovers, rather than Key West, try: British Virgin Islands
Why?
"You're literally in and out of the water, on and off boats, all day long," says Hayley. While you're there, Hayley suggests stopping off at Jost Van Dyke, a small island with "tons of little beach bars and grills." But come prepared to drive a boat (or have one chartered for you). People generally sail in and dock at restaurants and bars -- there's just no other way to get around, points out Hayley.
9. For the once-in-a-lifetime trip, try: Bora Bora.
Why?
"If you really want to get away from it all, the Tahitian Islands are phenomenal," says Hayley. The down side? Getting away from it all can take some time, and depending on how long your honeymoon is, you may not want to waste two days just traveling to your final destination.
Hayley says her other favorite far flung locales include the Maldives and anywhere in the South Pacific.
