What are the groom's parents responsible for?

A Now that the days where the bride’s parents were expected to bear all the wedding expenses are gone, the couple (assuming they work) together with both sets of parents usually share the wedding budget. Everyone should discuss how much they can afford and what’s most important to them from the beginning. (If your mom really wants to see you have an out-of-this-world wedding cake, she’ll probably want to pay for it.) Go through the items of your wedding budget and begin assigning to each person involved. If the bride’s parents want to pay for the entire wedding but the groom’s parents want to contribute too, the couple can suggest that they pay for the honeymoon instead. Aug 06, 2009
