What are some nonfloral boutonniere ideas?

A If your guy doesn’t want to wear the traditional flower boutonniere on his lapel, get creative and play up his personality with the boutonniere. You can make DIY boutonnieres, shaping flowers out of buttons, paper, felt, or rope. You can also go outside of the box by taking everyday objects like domino chips (you two played the game almost every weekend when you first started dating), a pair of dice (he loves casinos almost as much as he loves you), or action figurines (he’s really into Star Wars) and turning them into boutonnieres with the help of a little ribbon. If your groom doesn’t want to wear his personality on his lapel but he still doesn’t want a flower, the boutonniere can coordinate with your wedding style or theme. For a beach wedding, he could wear one made with a sand dollar or, for a winter wedding, cut a pair of mittens out with felt and attach them to his lapel. Aug 06, 2009
