Third time’s the charm for ABC’s The Bachelorette star, Jen Schefft. The reality TV star’s search for love was heavily documented on the 2003 season of The Bachelor (starring Andrew Firestone) and 2005's The Bachelorette. After walking away single (and turning down two marriage proposals), Schefft fell in love following a blind date in February 2008 with Chicago options trader Joe Waterman. (Ironically, their matchmaker was one of Schefft's previous blind dates with whom she didn't click.) The couple announced their engagement in September 2008.
In 2007, Schefft penned the book Better Single Than Sorry: A No-Regrets Guide to Loving Yourself and Never Settling. In addition, she has guest co-hosted The View on two occasions, co-hosted the 2005 Academy Awards pre-show on E! Entertainment Television, and has appeared on countless news and talk shows including The Oprah Winfrey Show, Live With Regis and Kelly, Good Morning America, and The Ellen DeGeneres Show. She has also been featured in Glamour, People, Redbook, Us Weekly, Time, as well as numerous other publications. A graduate of Ohio University, Schefft graduated summa cum laude in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. Schefft and her fiance currently reside in Chicago, Illinois, with their dog, Cooper, and are in the process of planning their May 2009 nuptials.
