Q: "Jen, being engaged was more overwhelming that I could have imagined. What was one of the things that surprised you most when you got engaged?"
The thing that surprised me the most about being engaged is the sense of security I felt. It was something I’d never experienced before. I was “technically” engaged before (to Andrew Firestone), but it was a different situation. We got engaged after knowing each other for six weeks and on national television. It was a real relationship, but it was never something I was absolutely sure would lead to marriage -- we didn’t even begin to plan for a wedding. This was the first time I’d been in a relationship where things felt exactly how I always thought they should. Don’t get me wrong; it’s not a fairy tale. Things aren’t perfect all the time, but we’re both committed to each other no matter what. We’re so happy and secure with each other -- and it just keeps getting better.
