Since January, I've been serious about shaping up for the wedding. It's not just about losing weight and toning up, it's about knowing that I did everything I could to look and feel my best on our big day. That's what motivated me in the beginning - and the results I'm seeing are what keep me motivated now (note to self - come back and read this once the wedding has long passed and eating well and working could not sound less appealing).

I've made a few changes in my diet. I've upped my fruit and veggie intake since I was seriously lacking in that department, and have cut out most empty carbs (i.e. white bread, cereal, subbing white pasta for wheat pasta, etc.). I've also cut back on alcohol. I'm not a big drinker but I have a few glasses of wine here and there - those calories really add up.
I've started working out a lot more, too. I'm not someone who loves running on the treadmill for hours, so I take a lot of fitness classes at my gym. Having a personal trainer is ideal, however they are expensive! So, classes are the next best thing - it's much easier for me to have someone else push me in the gym. I take kickboxing, Pilates and body sculpting classes. I try to work out 4 days a week and make sure I get a good mix of cardio and strength training.
Bottom line, I'm doing everything we all know we need to do - eating less and working out more. Plain and simple. It's not rocket science. The hard part is just getting to the gym and staying motivated. For me, it's about finding classes I actually enjoy (even more so when they're over!) and consistently reminding myself how much better I feel now that I'm back in shape.
