A Bridezilla, I Am Not
First and foremost, I’m determined not to become a bridezilla. I want to make sure the planning stages and the wedding ceremony and reception are as simple and uncomplicated as possible for Joe, myself, and everyone involved. While I want the wedding day to be special and beautiful, we’re ultimately preparing for our marriage too -- not just our wedding day.

Small(er) and Intimate
I’ve always wanted a small wedding and be surrounded by our nearest and dearest friends and family members. Initially, we wanted to invite 50 to 60 guests, but that proved impossible. We’ve been able to keep the guest list at around 100. I ultimately wanted to avoid entertaining 400+ guests so I can really enjoy the day with my new husband along with those closest to us.
Simple yet Elegant
Joe and I aren’t “over-the-top” people. Our invitations are simple and clean. Our flowers will be pretty yet subdued. My dress is romantic yet not frilly or poufy. Bottom line: I want things to look beautiful and elegant but not overdone.

Black and White
It’s little black dresses for the bridesmaids and black ties/vests for the groomsmen. Again, clean and elegant. Every girl needs and looks great in a little black dress.
Pinks and Purples
Pink and purple are my favorite colors, and I wanted some color to pop against the black bridesmaid dresses. I saw the bouquet on the cover of this book and knew right away I wanted my florist to create something similar.
