Can a Cake Design Suggest a Natural Theme?

A

Look to your location to re-create an outdoor ambience on your wedding cake. If you're holding your wedding in a cool meadow or forest clearing, top a classic ivory cake with glistening woodland jewels, such as wild strawberries, ripe blueberries, tart raspberries, sweet blackberries, and fresh cherries. If you're treating your guests to an outdoor summer luncheon, line the bottom of a pretty basketweave buttercream-iced cake with shiny lemon leaves and seasonal fruit, or camellias still on the stem. For a winery wedding, build a sweet vineyard all your own by piling a stacked cake high with fresh pink and yellow roses, ivy vines, violet-hued hydrangeas, and glistening bunches of amethyst-colored grapes.
