Can we have more than one wedding cake?

A

You can definitely have more than one wedding cake. There are several ways to go about doing this. Many couples are opting for smaller cakes to be used as centerpieces for each table. Having several miniature wedding cakes means you don’t have to choose just one design, flavor, or style, but be warned: This option can be both enticing and expensive, especially if each wedding cake is intricately decorated -- so make sure to work within your wedding budget.

Instead of a wedding cake, cupcakes are great because they give you the flexibility of different flavors and frostings but keep the costs low. (Plus, they look beautiful displayed on a lavish cupcake tree stand.) Alternatively, you can ask your wedding cake designer to build the cupcakes so they resemble the shape of an actual cake.

A lot of couples also serve a groom’s cake, which started as a tradition in the South. This gives your groom a chance to design the cake of his dreams too!

You may even choose to forgo cake altogether and set up a dessert bar offering a medley of your favorite sweets.
