When During the Reception Does the Cake Cutting Take Place?

A Traditionally, the cake cutting takes place after all the toasts have been given and dinner has been served. When the master of ceremonies makes the announcement for the bride and groom to cut the cake, the couple proceeds to the cake table while the selected music plays. After the cake is cut, the father-daughter dance follows, along with any other special dances. The dance floor is then opened up for the rest of the guests while the cake and coffee are served. The bouquet toss, garter toss, and grand exit finish off the reception.
