Can Small Details Help Make Your Ceremony Unique?

A With imagination and lots of personalization, the tiniest details can make your ceremony original, memorable – and all about the two of you.
The Music.  Have your sounds stay within a theme, whether by singer, era, or style. Although guests may not remember every detail of your wedding, they will remember how it made them feel, and music can inspire a range of emotions. Choose your musical selections carefully, and consider having a music source beyond the usual pianist or string quartet. A choir, a chamber orchestra, or a single harpist at your ceremony can set the tone for the entire wedding.
The Readings. There is no hard and fast rule that you have to use traditional readings at your ceremony. A spoken excerpt from your favorite book, play, or even film will reflect your personality more than a classic passage. You can also have more then one person share a reading, assigning each person within a group a few lines so that the reading has a range of voices. And don’t be shy about writing something of your own; what could be more romantic or heartfelt than having a poem you wrote for your beloved read aloud at your wedding?
The Programs. Programs are the place to thank your guests and special loved ones, highlight a passage that is special to both of you, and honor late relatives and friends. Everything from the type of paper, font, shape, and style of your programs can be personalized. Consider adding monograms, ribbons, or even images of the two of you to make a special mark on the programs. They make wonderful keepsakes for guests, and can do double duty as fans for warm-weather weddings.
The Lighting. Love candles? Fill your ceremony site with them and marry by candlelight. Adore fairy lights? Line the site with potted trees festooned with tiny, white lights. Delicate lanterns hung from trees can light up an outdoor wedding after the sun goes down, and paper luminarias can line paths or an aisle with romantic lighting.
