Can Your Ceremony Reflect a Retro Theme?

A

Whether you love the Art Deco style of the '20s, or the primness of the '50s, don't be afraid to fit your favorite era into your ceremony. Many brides are adding small details to reflect a specific theme, or even revolving their entire wedding around a chosen decade.

The best ways to incorporate retro elements into your wedding are in your ceremony site and music. Do your research and find out what types of venues were most common for a wedding during your preferred era. A church or a historic building in your city will add to the authenticity, while music appropriate to the era will lend the proper air to the ceremony. Consider walking down the aisle to a popular song from your time period, such as a popular jazz selection from the '20s or an instrumental version of your favorite '50s love song. The right attire will also add to the theme, so a gown with a retro feel should be at the top of your list.
