How Can You Make Programs Yourself?

A

Since there are no formal guidelines, a wedding program can be exactly what you want it to be. Whether it’s a thick booklet reflecting every detail of your ceremony or a single sheet of paper with only the most important details, the style is completely up to you.

Once you’ve chosen the style of your programs, you can begin developing the design. Visit your local stationery and art supply stores to browse the beautiful papers you have to choose from. Once you’ve selected the perfect paper, consider the type of binding (if needed) that you’d like. When you have all of your materials, you can focus on the print.

Use your computer’s desktop publishing program to experiment with fonts and templates. When you’re through designing and writing, proofread carefully (ask your partner to double-check your work), and you’re ready to print. Black ink is classic and traditional, but if you have a color printer, you can use colors drawn from your wedding. You can also print just one copy of the program and have your local copy store replicate it onto the paper you’ve selected. After printing, assemble your programs and stash them in a safe place until the wedding.
