How Can You Incorporate Your Favorite Color Into Your Ensemble?

A

Just because it’s a wedding doesn’t mean every aspect of your outfit must be white. While bridal gowns usually come in white, pearl, or light shades of gold, you can add your own touch with colorful accessories and dress accents. Some brides are even choosing to forgo white altogether by wearing gowns in pale pink, lavender, or baby blue. To add a more diminutive hint of color to a white dress, try a colored sash.

For the more traditional bride, colorful jewelry is a great alternative. Pearls come in hues ranging from gray to golden to pastel pink, while a pair of colored diamond (or cubic zirconia) studs is sweet yet subtle. Sapphires, emeralds, and semi-precious stones can also add bright detail to your necklace, earrings, and hair accessories. However, you want your dress to remain the center of attention, so don't go overboard.

Other creative places to feature color include your purse, the embroidery on the edge of your veil, or a bright handkerchief tied around the stem of your bouquet. Bridal salons can even dye your shoes your favorite shade, be it a pale tone of one of your wedding colors or something as dramatic as red.
