What Should You Expect at Gown Fittings?

A

When going to a wedding gown fitting, you should wear or take along any undergarments, shoes, and other accessories you'll be wearing on the big day. You'll put the gown on, and the seamstress will pin the dress where it needs to be taken in or mark where it needs to be let out.

She'll also go over how you'd like your bustle to look and teach you (or your maid of honor) how to properly bustle you.

If you're on a bridal diet, you shouldn’t lose too much weight after the second fitting. The third fitting is normally for minor touch-ups and details, not for taking in your wedding dress another time. This could run you steep rush alteration charges.
