Are There Wedding Favors You Can Make Yourself?

A

With a little bit of work, you can definitely make your wedding favors yourself. If you're having a large wedding, this can be quite a task, so you may want to enlist the help of your bridal party and as many friends who are willing to spend a day tying tulle! Amidst all the wedding planning chaos, you'll get to unwind, share laughs with your pals -- and everything will start to seem manageable again.

Check out our favorite ideas for unique wedding favors you can make yourself -- without an engineering degree. All you need are a few wedding supplies.

  1. Homemade cookies in a ribbon-tied plastic bag
  2. Decorated mason jars filled with homemade preserves and tagged with personalized labels
  3. Bunches of lollipops tied off with lovely bows
  4. Snack boxes filled with the makings for s'mores (marshmallow, graham crackers and chocolate)
  5. Favorite family recipes printed on card stock and tied together with raffia
  6. Swatches of tulle wrapped around handfuls of saltwater taffy -- taffy is also a riot of color if you offer it in small mason jars
  7. Flower seeds wrapped in a square of soft fabric
  8. Make miniature bars of soap and wrap in swatches of fabric in your wedding colors; then tie the bundles together with raffia or colored ribbons
  9. Tins packed with mints or jelly beans
  10. An "After the Party" kit with antacid, water, and a headache remedy wrapped in tulle or packed in small tied with ribbon
