Do I need to hire a designer for my wedding?

A

Many brides hire a designer to plan their wedding decor. What exactly does a designer do for your wedding? They'll plan the overall style of the wedding and each individual detail, like flowers, lighting, and linens, to create a unified look. A designer will then hire a florist or other vendors to work with them to achieve the desired look and feel. (That said, remember that a full-service florist can handle all your floral needs and planning as well -- that’s also part of their job.) Don’t be surprised to find that your designer has a team of professionals working for them to help them perfectly execute all the details that will come together to make your dream wedding day come true.

A wedding designer isn't necessary if you’d like to work with your wedding planner or florist and venue manager individually to create your wedding decor concept, though busy brides often turn to them to take some of the planning pressure off, or to achieve a unique theme idea or concept.
