What Decor Elements Will Dress up a Hotel Ballroom?

A

A hotel ballroom provides a nice location for a reception, but there are many ways you can add personal elements in order to create your ideal atmosphere.

Plant It. Everyone loves the gentle fragrance of spring wafting in the cool night air, so bring in that fragrance with rented orange trees. Not only do potted trees bring a lovely scent to your reception, they're great for lending a dash of intimacy to even the blandest room.

Borrow It. Personal items, such as your grandmother's cut crystal punch bowl or your great-aunt's silver tea tray, can be used to add old-world elegance to your reception. Plus, your older relatives will feel proud when your guests admire their one-of-a-kind treasures.

Light It. Hire a specialty lighting company to cast a warm, amber glow over your reception. Have them use spotlights to showcase specific areas, such as your centerpieces or cake tables.

Cover It. Change the color scheme of a ballroom with a rented carpet overlay in whatever shade you like. Walls can be draped in fabric in the color of your choice, or hidden behind tall panels.
