Which Flowers Are in Season in the Winter?
The selection of winter flowers may seem limited, but there are many varieties that are available through florists year-round. Roses, for instance, are a summer flower, but can be found in any color during virtually any month of the year. Orchids, one of the most popular and traditional wedding blooms, come in multiple colors, strengths, and price ranges. Cymbidium orchids (expensive) range from a vibrant green to hot pink to stark white. The centers of the flower also vary in color. Dendrobium orchids are available in colors ranging from pinks to purples, and are sturdy as well as moderately priced.
For flowers in winter white, baby’s breath, chrysanthemums, and roses top the list. For jewel tones, gerbera daisies, alstroemeria, and chrysanthemums (they come in red and purple too) are striking, affordable choices for winter.
