Fat Free Fiances: Amber and Benny

Be sure to look out for WeddingChannel.com on The Style Network's new reality show Fat Free Fiances (the next episode premieres January 6th at 9pm EST). Meet one of the couples: Amber and Benny.

Amber Sledd, 24, and Benny Hidalgo, 31, may come from two completely different worlds, but there’s one thing this couple has in common: They both want to slim down before they say “I do.”

Amber and Benny are engaged contestants on the new reality show Fat Free Fiance on the Style Network.

Amber comes from tight-knit family in LA, while her fiance Benny’s parents divorced when he was just a child. He lived with his father, then his mother after graduating high school, all the while living in a rough neighborhood. Amber and Benny’s differences have managed to strengthen their bond -- especially following the death of Benny’s mother (brought on by complications from smoking and severe obesity).

Both Amber and Benny want to lose weight, but it’s been an especially sensitive topic for Amber who feels outshined by her slimmer bridesmaids. Amber’s insecurities have made it hard for her and Benny to be intimate -- and even harder for her to shop. This bride-to-be has sworn off shorts and bathing suits in exchange for black, black, and more black.

Packing on the pounds isn’t the only thing weighing this couple down. Budget concerns have made it nearly impossible for Amber to have the wedding of her dreams. They have both had to make some sacrifices in order to make their wedding a reality.

If this couple is going to successfully lose the weight, they both have to make a committed effort to change a lot of bad eating habits. It’s time to say bye-bye to Benny’s large portions and Amber’s stress eating, and hello to a happy life together full of nutritous meals and lots of exercise.
