For the 20-Something Bride

Younger brides have the advantage of having naturally glowing, youthful skin. This is the most important feature to play up. The easiest way to enhance your complexion is to wear a lightweight foundation with an illuminating finish. I love Stila’s Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer for this look. It has the perfect mix of ultra-sheer coverage and luminosity, plus SPF 15 -- extra important if the wedding is outside.

For younger brides, it’s best to keep the rest of the face soft and monochromatic. I prefer cool tones on fair skin and warm tones on medium to olive skin.

A sheer wash of soft shimmer shadow, like Stila Eye Shadow in Kitten, works well on all skin tones. Give the eyes soft definition with a chocolate-brown eyeliner -- waterproof is best. I use Chanel Intense Eye Pencil in Ambre. Also, curl the lashes to create an “open eye” effect. (Curled lashes will really pop in your wedding photos too.) Then, apply waterproof mascara in black. I love to use YSL Everlong Waterproof Mascara on my brides.

Lips and cheeks can stay soft in a cherry pink tone. Go with a sheer stain like Cherry Crush Lip & Cheek Stain by Stila. You can apply this to your lips and cheeks, and it looks very healthy and never overdone.

Stay away from dark lip liners and too much shimmer on your face.
