At-Home Cards:
At-home cards are simple cards that inform friends and relatives of the couple's address, when they will be settled in, or when they plan to return from their honeymoon. These optional cards are usually included with the announcement or sent separately after the wedding. They should be ordered with the announcements or
invitations. At-home cards are also used to announce which name the bride will be using.
Bridal Shower Invitations:
Bridal shower
invitations should be sent three to four weeks before the shower(s), which is usually held three to eight weeks before the wedding. Invitations should include the hostesses' and bride's names; the date, time and location of the event; any special themes, and RSVP information. Only those invited to the wedding should be included, unless a shower is being hosted by another group, such as colleagues or co-workers. Because the shower invitation is sent by the hostess (traditionally, the maid of honor) and not the bride, it is appropriate to mention a gift theme or the stores where the couple have registered. Bride's Stationery:
Stationery that is engraved with the bride's maiden name or initials is called "bride's stationery." (The stationery can be used after the wedding if the bride keeps her maiden name.) The stationery is used to write thank you notes for shower, engagement or wedding gifts received before the wedding.
Bridesmaids' Luncheon Invitation:
A party in honor of the bridesmaids is usually given one to two weeks before the wedding, and is traditionally hosted by the bride herself. Invitations should be sent two to three weeks before the party. Gifts from the bride to thank the bridesmaids may be given to the bridesmaids at the luncheon or at the rehearsal dinner. The mothers of the bride and groom may or may not be invited to the luncheon.
