Can I just email my wedding invitations?

A We know it seems like everything happens via email these days, especially planning events with friends and family. You can email your wedding invitations, but we wouldn’t. Emailing wedding invitations, even to your closest friends, is generally inappropriate. It’s expected that you send printed invitations of some kind. The only exception to this rule is in an emergency circumstance. We’re talking you and your fiance are moving out of the country and decided to get married next weekend. Note: You can send save-the-dates via email if you’d like.

If you really want to go virtual, consider nixing reply cards and have your guests RSVP on your wedding website. It’s more accepted than actual email invites. Beware, however, that technology has its glitches, and you can really only go that route if all your friends and family are Internet-savvy. Aug 05, 2009
