Should I send engagement announcements?

A While guests expect to receive certain wedding-related communications, like invitations and thank-you notes, engagement announcements aren’t a must. They are, however, a fun way to let your friends and family know you’re getting married. Soon after you’ve gotten engaged, you should obviously tell your parents, your children (if you have any), and your close friends and family. Save-the-dates serve as engagement announcements, so you wouldn’t need to send both. If you want to do something special to announce your engagement, consider posting a newspaper announcement or having an engagement party.
