You prefer to think of your walk down the aisle not just as a processional, but as the opening number to your very own show-stopping event. Let the sly and sexy crescendos of Ravel's "Bolero" accompany your wedding party as they walk slowly to their places. Building tension. Hinting at the drama to come. By the time you make your grand entrance, symbols will crash and tympanis roar. Ah, drama.
Or let music take your guests on an emotional roller coaster ride. Between the haunting beauty of "Gabriel's Obo" from "The Mission," and your star turn as a radiant bride, there won't be a dry eye left in the house. Better wear some waterproof mascara.
For your first dance, a smoldering tango is the perfect choice. With a beautifully choreographed tete-a-tete, and a rose in your teeth (why not), your guests will be breathless. You'll, of course, tell no one you've practiced in secret for months. When pressed, say simply -- "Oh, we saw them dance the tango in Buenos Aires. It looked easy enough..."
At the reception, get your girlfriends together for a rousing "It's Raining Men," or "I Will Survive." And for the last dance, (which will mostly likely happen just as the sun is coming up), what could be more memorable than Donna Summer's "Last Dance?" Then grab your groom and make a dash to the limo to the tune of Irving Berlin's "Steppin' Out With My Baby."
