How Can You Keep Children Busy During The Reception?
Children can make an adorable addition to any wedding; however, they can also get a little cranky at the end of a long day. Consider keeping the kids entertained at the reception with these fun ideas.
Provide Some Play
A small, low table in a corner can become a great place for kids to gather and play if you provide coloring/activity books, crayons, and a few puzzles. A lunchbox packed with smaller, individual games and a few child-friendly snacks make wonderful favors and will keep small hands busy as well.
Hire Help
A wedding isn’t much fun for guests who must constantly run after their kids, so you might consider hiring childcare helpers to provide supervision. Make it budget-friendly by enlisting a few responsible young teens to keep an eye on the kids.
Assign "Photographers"
Consider giving the older children disposable cameras and assign them to get candid shots at the reception. It will keep them busy, and you’ll get heartwarming shots from a different perspective.
Invest in a Kids' Menu
You aren’t obligated to serve a separate menu for children, but chances are they won't appreciate or enjoy the salmon or beef tenderloin as much as the adults will. Many caterers have "child entree" options that will keep the little ones happy and full, such as:
*Pasta (sauce on the side)
*Grilled chicken strips
*Heart-shaped finger sandwiches
*Turkey and cheese wraps
