What's a signature cocktail? How do I pick one?

A A signature cocktail is a signature drink (usually contains alcohol, but doesn’t have to) served at cocktail hours and wedding receptions. You and your groom can work with either your caterer or bartender at your venue to create one together, or you could each have your own. Choose one based on what kind of drinks you like or simply by color if you want the drink to match your wedding theme. Don’t forget to name it after yourself or something fun your guests will enjoy. Think: “David and Marytini” or “[Your Name] on the Rocks.”

Your signature cocktail can also be inspired by your wedding season or style. For instance, if you’re having a fall wedding, go with hard apple cider or an appletini. If it’s a summer wedding, consider something fruity. If the wedding colors are pink and yellow, serve both pink and yellow lemonade (spiked or virgin).

If you or your groom has a favorite wine or beer, you can incorporate that as well. Adding these special touches to the drink menu is a great way to personalize your reception. Sep 01, 2009
