What's a sweetheart table?

A A sweetheart table is a special table at the wedding reception that's just for the bride and groom. A couple who plans to be walking around and mingling most of the night usually opt for a sweetheart table so they don’t leave spaces at the bridal party table. Sitting at a sweetheart table would also give you and your groom a few moments of alone time to revel in your newlywed status. (The day is, after all, about the two of you.) It’s usually placed at the front of the room for all to see.

If you don’t want a sweetheart table, you can also sit with your bridal party at what would be called the “head table.” To distinguish your seat and your new husband’s seat, you can hang flowers from the backs of the chairs or signs that say “bride” and “groom.” Sep 01, 2009
