Natalie says
When guests checked in they got welcome bags filled with treats that Zach and I love from the places we call home: Cowboy snack mix (spicy trail mix from TX for Zach’s homestate), PA Dutch (my ancestory) pretzels from a factory in Lancaster, NYC Black & White cookies from our adopted home together and Fernandina Fudge’s Salt Water Taffy to represent Florida where I grew up and the area where my family vacationed. The weekend kicked off with a Mexican welcome party on the Ocean View Terrace at Amelia Island Plantaion. After the welcome party, guests gathered on the beach for a bonfire complete with cocktails, roasting marshmallows and make your own s’mores.

Sunday was the big day. We were married at 4pm by our dear friend who got ordained by the Universal Life Church. We wrote the entire ceremony, a speech to each other and our vows. As guests walked down the boardwalk, they were greeted by a shoe valet, where they could check their shoes, pick up a pair of flip flops in their size.

The cocktail hour and reception were on the opposite side of the plantation, the marsh side complete with old Spanish oak trees covered in moss. Walker’s Landing is a rustic venue that perfectly matched our homey, vintage, rustic vibe. The cocktail hour was on the wrap around verandah of the venue. A steel drum player was there playing tunes and guests were greeted with Spiked Lemonades in mason jars with drink flags that read things like “Mr. And Mrs. Friedman” and “Next stop... Maldives!”. The oyster bar was decorated with a birch vase with our initials carved into it and filled with Honeymoon tulips.

There were albums and scrap books on the oyster bar that guests could look through that documented our dating life, engagement and wedding planning process. Later on, we danced to a 9 piece band to songs like "Shout" and to artists like Michael Jackson, Bon Jovi and Journey. I changed into a short ivory sequined party dress for my departure to the after party. We left the reception to our friends and families lighting the way with sparklers and got in our golf cart with a just married sign.
